How to print your scripture art
Every download is vector-based, so the lettering stays razor-sharp from a small desk frame to a 24×36 statement piece. Here's how to get a result that looks store-bought.
1. Pick the right file for your frame
| Frame size | Use this file |
|---|---|
| 5×7, 8×10, 16×20, 20×25 | 8×10 PDF (4:5) |
| 6×8, 9×12, 12×16, 18×24 | 12×16 PDF (3:4) |
| 4×6, 8×12, 12×18, 20×30, 24×36 | 12×18 PDF (2:3) |
| A5, A4, A3, A2, A1 | A4 PDF (ISO) |
| Photo kiosks & phone apps | 3000×4000 PNG |
| 11×14 | 8×10 PDF with “fit”, or trim 12×16 (small margin change) |
Frame has a mat? Print at the mat's opening size, not the frame size, e.g. an 11×14 frame with a mat usually holds an 8×10 print.
2. Choose where to print
At home
Best for 8×10 and A4. Use matte photo or 100 lb (270 gsm) cardstock, set “Actual size / 100%” and highest quality.
Photo counter
Walgreens, CVS, Costco, Walmart: upload the PNG or PDF, choose matte or lustre finish. Most sizes ready same day.
Print shop / online
Staples, FedEx Office or online printers handle large sizes (18×24, 24×36) on poster or fine-art paper.
3. Finish & frame
- Matte or lustre paper shows off the soft colors best. Avoid high gloss behind glass.
- Natural oak and thin black frames suit every design; white frames are lovely for nurseries.
- Hang the center of the print at about 57 inches from the floor, or 8-10 inches above furniture.
- For a set of three, leave 2-3 inches between frames.
Troubleshooting
The colors look different from my screen.
Screens glow; paper reflects. Matte paper and a “color-managed” or photo setting gets closest. Photo counters are usually very accurate.
My print came out with white edges.
Choose “borderless” or trim the margin. At photo counters, pick “fit” rather than “fill” so no lettering is cropped.
The shop says my file is too large.
Upload the PNG instead of the PDF. It is sized for kiosks and apps.
Can I have it printed on canvas?
Yes. Most canvas services accept the PNG. Ask for a 1.5-inch wrap so the lettering stays on the front.
